Founder & President
Rob Thompson’s journey began over 35 years ago when he earned his electrical tradesman certification. Rob has decades of experience in the construction industry and has managed all types and sizes of projects.
Rob’s unique skill set and practical know-how have contributed to the growth of several companies throughout his career. In 2009 Rob founded Solaris Electric, focusing on electrical construction and facility maintenance.
As a lifelong Calgarian, Rob is committed to the sustainable growth of the city and the continued success of Solaris Electric.
Matt has held various management roles over his 15+ years in the construction industry. His expertise has contributed to the successful growth of multiple organizations.
With a track record of creating cost-effective solutions in challenging work environments, his goal is to always find a win-win situation for all stakeholders involved in a project. Matt’s friendly and caring personal demeanour combined with his professional know-how is appreciated by clients and co-workers alike.
When Matt is not working, you can find him enjoying the great outdoors with his wife, children, and dogs.
Health & Safety Manager
Brittany has been with Solaris Electric since 2016. She has worked in different roles, having served the financial side of the business as well as being the company’s Health and Safety Manager. Her extensive training
includes various health and safety courses. She is a First Aid trainer and a licensed Primary Care Paramedic. Her initiatives successfully revised the
Health and Safety Program at Solaris Electric and helped the company achieve its COR certification status. Brittany continues to add to her
credentials and is currently working on her National Construction Safety Officer NCSO™ Certification.
In her downtime, Brittany loves playing soccer and hanging out with her family and her dogs.
Darren is a project manager and estimator at Solaris Electric. He partners with general contractors, businesses, and property managers/developers to
assist with budgets, 24/7 call-out services, construction execution plans, and turnover.
Darren has over 15 years of experience in the electrical industry and brings a strong technical background to the role. His guidance ensures that all fundamental electrical requirements are met, and that his customers’ expectations have been exceeded.
Darren enjoys spending time with his wife and being a “girl dad” to his daughters. Darren’s pastimes include going for hikes, skiing, and playing hockey.
